Sister Janice Greenwood Added to Mercy Health System Board
Rogers, AR (September 16, 2005) - Sister Janice Greenwood,
O.P., has been selected to serve on the board of directors for Mercy Health System
of Northwest Arkansas. She will serve a three-year term on the board, which oversees
the operations of the health system.
Sister Janice, a Dominican Sister, served at St. Mary's Hospital/Mercy Health System
from 1986-2002. Prior, she worked as a teacher for 35 years. She earned a bachelor's
degree in education from Fontbonne College in St. Louis, Mo., and a master’s degree in
education from the University of Illinois at Champaign.
Currently, Sister Janice serves as Director of Siena Hall, a retreat center on the
grounds of the Sacred Heart Convent in Springfield, Ill. In addition to her new
board responsibilities in Northwest Arkansas, she also serves on the board at Marian
Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Ill.
Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas, a not-for-profit faith-based health system,
provides healthcare services to residents in northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri.
The System includes St. Mary’s Hospital, The Gardens at Osage Terrace Assisted
Living Facility and Mercy Medical Clinics in 22 locations throughout northwest
Arkansas and southwest Missouri. Mercy is currently constructing a state-of-the-art
medical campus just east of Interstate 540 off of New Hope Road in southwest Rogers.
When completed in 2007, the campus will include a 350,000-square-foot medical center
with 200 beds and a medical office building to accommodate 90 physicians.
